Benjamin J. Deen and
Liquori Tate Scholarship
Creating a legacy for our heroes
May 9, 2015 is a day that will not soon be forgotten. It was on this day that two of Hattiesburg's finest public servants, police Officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate, were killed in the line of duty. Their service and sacrifice devastated a community and inspired it's generosity. In response to the tragic events of that day, people across the Pine Belt region (and the nation) expressed their grief and support through sacrificial giving.
The Benjamin J. Deen and Liquori Tate Scholarship Fund was established specifically to benefit family members of Law Enforcement Officers employed in the Pine Belt region injured or killed in the line of duty. Family members include the officer’s spouse, children, step-children, siblings (including half-brothers/half-sisters), parents and step parents. Ongoing support for this fund is raised through the annual End of Watch Ride in Hattiesburg, MS.
The Benjamin J. Deen and Liquori Tate Scholarship Fund is an Endowed Fund where a grant selection committee will review scholarship applications. This Fund bears the names of Officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate and is part of their legacy to all law enforcement officers serving in the Pine Belt, now and in the future.
