FIELD OF INTEREST FUND

A Field of Interest Fund supports organizations that address a specific issue that you care about.

Field of Interest Funds supported by the Pinebelt Foundation

Ann Morris Memorial Fund 

The Ann Morris Memorial Fund is set up to support programs, services and activities –as offered by area organizations– whose purpose of which is to enrich the quality of life of persons of advanced age, who have been diagnosed as intellectually challenged​

Brooks Walters Memorial Fund

To benefit children's health organizations.

​

Calm Harbor Fund

Grant supporting charities working in education, youth services, and food security in Forrest and Lamar Counties.

​

Cancer Patient Travel Assistance Fund

Provides gas cards to cancer patients who need help with travel expenses for treatments.

​

Covington County Disaster Fund

Supports long term disaster relief for Covington County.

​

Dan Sumrall Historical Cemetery Fund

To provide for the maintenance, repair, and restoration of monuments, headstones, and grave markers of historical and architectural significance to the community.

​

Denham Cemetery Maintenance Fund

To benefit the following specific charitable purpose: the care, upkeep, and maintenance of the Denham Cemetery.

Eagle Scholarship Support Fund

Supports the Eagle Scholarship Program in the USM College of Business.

​

Faith For A Cure

To support programs that assist those battling cancer with priority given to those programs focusing on breast cancer patients in Covington, Forrest, Jones, Jasper, Perry, Smith, and Wayne counties.

​

Forrest - Perry County Adult Drug Court Fund 

To raise money for the Forrest- Perry County Drug and DUI Court, which is a three year program designed to treat addiction and supervise the transition back into life free of criminal acts and drug and alcohol abuse.

​

Forrest County Sheriff's Office Benevolence Fund

Established for citizens and members of the Forrest County Sheriff's Office. The fund will be used for charitable gifts including, but not limited to: Christmas gifts, payment of utilities and medical bills, purchase of school supplies, and clothing. Qualifications for receiving a gift/donation would include but not be limited to: unemployed, single parent families, grandparents raising children, individuals with disabilities and those classified as low income as well as victims of a natural or man-made disaster. Individuals will fill out an application and a designated committee will approve qualified applicants.

GCCF Weatherization

To provide sub-grant funds to R3SM tornado recovery efforts in the Hattiesburg area that are in the Mississippi Power Company customer service area. To be used for continued funding for homes for energy efficiency and weatherization of homes.

​

Ginn Weeks Family Fund 

Four named areas of Interest: Literacy Services for Adults and Children, Homelessness and families in Crisis, Animal Welfare, and Public Libraries. 

​

Hattiesburg Hundred 

This Fund is designed to provide funds for emergencies and/or hardships experienced by family members of full-time, sworn, Pinebelt law enforcement officers that arise from and are directly related to the officer’s death in the line of duty or an injury.

​

Health Insurance Premium Assistance Program

This fund makes it possible for individuals to purchase insurance on the exchanges.

​

HUB Award Fund 

The HUB Award is an annual event to recognize community leaders for their outstanding contributions to the community, commitment to excellence, and dedication to public service. The Hub Award Fund awards a scholarship to one student from William Carey University and one student at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Jefferson Davis County Disaster Fund

Supports long term disaster relief in Jefferson Davis County.

Jones County Disaster Fund

Lamar County Work Ready Community Initiative

Midtown Merchants Association

Supports the work of Midtown Merchant Association.

​

Members Helping Members

Awards grants to nonprofits and schools within the footprint of Southern Pine Electric Coop (Copiah, Covington, Forrest, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Lawrence, Newton, Rankin, Scott, Simpson, and Smith Counties).​​

Pine Belt Community Disaster Fund

To help long term recovery needs of the Pine Belt Community, with the exception of Petal.

Pine Belt Community Disaster Fund - Petal

To help the long term recovery needs of the Pine Belt Community of Petal.

Pine Belt Community Enhancement Fund

The is a general unrestricted fund designed to meet community needs as determined by the Foundation's Board from year to year.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery Fund

To provide maintenance and repair headstones in the cemetery.

​

Stevens Cemetery Trust Fund

Supports maintenance of Stevens Cemetery.

 

The Center for Encouraging Pastors 

To encourage excellence in pastoral ministry through conferences, training opportunities, and resources for pastors.

​

Toni's Light Fund 

Provides grants for female applicants who are diagnosed with ovarian cancer or breast cancer and female applicants with hardships in association with receiving a heart transplant. Applicants must live in Forrest, Lamar, or Marion Counties.
